NFU Signs MoU with Burapha University, Thailand to Strengthen Smart Manufacturing Collaboration

On May 27, 2025, National Formosa University (NFU) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Burapha University (BUU), Thailand, marking the beginning of a promising partnership. The BUU delegation was led by Dr. Pairoj Raothanachonkun, Dean of the Faculty of Logistics, and Dr. Anirut Kantasa-ard, Associate Dean for International Affairs at the Faculty of Logistics.
 
In the morning, the delegation visited the Department of Industrial Management at NFU’s Third Campus for in-depth academic exchange with faculty members and students. The visit began with a guided tour led by students under the supervision of Director Dr. Meng-Hua Lee. Guests visited the Lean Production Management Lab, where they explored practical applications in improving manufacturing efficiency and process optimization. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Chung-Ming Cheng in the Virtual Manufacturing Lab, showcasing the use of virtual reality technology for simulating production environments and advancing digital transformation. The visit concluded at the Smart Health Promotion Lab, where Dr. Ying-Lien Lee introduced innovations integrating technology to enhance health and quality of life.
 
The official MoU signing ceremony took place at the VIP Room of the Administration Building on NFU’s main campus. On behalf of NFU, Senior Vice President Dr. Jau-Shiung Fang signed the agreement. Other distinguished attendees included Dr. Li-Wei Chen, Vice President of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), Dr. Meng-Hua Lee, Chair of the Department of Industrial Management, Dr. Wen-Chi Lu, Associate Vice President of OIA, and Director Dr. Yen-Kun Lin. Both parties gave brief introductions to their universities, followed by the formal signing, exchange of souvenirs, and group photos. The ceremony was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, symbolizing the beginning of a fruitful collaboration.
 
In the afternoon, the BUU delegation continued their visit to the Research Center for Intelligent Machinery and Smart Manufacturing, where they were warmly received by Senior Consultant Dr. Bing-Chi Jan and Dr. Chi-Chang Tsai. The hosts provided a comprehensive introduction to the center’s research and practical applications in the field of smart manufacturing, paving the way for future academic and technical collaboration between the two institutions.
 
This successful signing ceremony and visit not only deepened mutual understanding of each other’s academic strengths and research achievements, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation in talent cultivation, joint research, and international exchange—opening a new chapter of win-win partnership between NFU and Burapha University.
