Eid al-Fitr is one of the most important holidays in Islam. At National Formosa University, over 70% of international students are Muslim. On April 9th, the Office of International Affairs held an Eid al-Fitr celebration, allowing Muslim students—many of whom are far from home—to come together and celebrate the end of Ramadan. The event also served as a platform for sharing Islamic culture and the significance of fasting with local Taiwanese students and other international students, highlighting the university’s encouragement of cultural diversity and its commitment to creating a multicultural and inclusive campus environment.
National Formosa University is committed to providing a Muslim-friendly environment for its students. The university has set up prayer rooms, ablution facilities, and the international kitchen for use by international students. NFU actively supports the Ministry of Education’s New Southbound Policy, with countries from the New Southbound region being major sources of its international student population. The university cares deeply about students from diverse backgrounds and will continue to foster an inclusive and welcoming campus environment, helping all international students become part of the NFU family.
